Sacroiliac Joint Pain: How To Stop Sciatica and Low Back Pain

The pelvis consists of 3 major bones, the Sacrum in the middle which is supported by two flat bones the inominates or ileum. The joints are called the sacroiliac joints. These have very strong fibrous ligaments and cartilages along with the joint capsule. Interruption of the normal motions and muscle balances can cause mild to very severe pain particularly with walking and getting out of chair or bed. This video describes the mechanics involved.

sacroiliac dysfunction is easily treated with chiropractic manipulation. When the eldest becomes distorted in the sacroiliac joint is on a function perhaps the only treatment that will resolve or correct the issue is a chiropractic manipulation. Methods used vary and all are effective.

The simplest her non-force technique is called sacral occipital technique or SOT, which uses blocks to gently repositioned the pelvis. this, coupled with flexion distraction type traction is quite effective and is done without force or trauma. this technique is very good for chronic, recurring sacroiliac issues, and coupled with applied kinesiology muscle balancing will give long-term results.

The most popular and in my opinion most effective treatment is the chiropractic side roll mobilization. This diversified technique quickly replaces and balances the sacroiliac and pelvic structures. although some people do not like her. This pretzel type of position, it is not painful and usually give immediate relief.

Ancillary therapy are used to improve and Quicken healing of the muscular, ligaments, and capsular tissues. Common therapies are electric muscle stimulation, ultrasound, shortwave diathermy, moist heat and ice.

The most important factor is prevention. Chiropractic mobilization can quickly alleviate the acute pain, but maintaining elasticity and tone to the supporting structures is imperative to prevent recurrences. Please see the Williams low back exercises on our website as one of the primary preventative tools.

Sacroiliac joint dysfunction or sacroiliac this is perhaps one of my favorite conditions to treat as the positive results are very dramatically brought about a very short period of time. Often the patient can walk into the office without Mark pain, and immediately after mobilization says I am free the pain is gone.side roll
